Q: How does buddyup.com make it easier for me to find a buddy?
A: Buddyup.com allows a member to conduct a search and produce a list of other members with an interest in a specific activity with a zip code that is near the member's. If more than a few members match, the search can be refined by selecting only those with a reported skill level near yours. Lastly, if further culling is needed, buddyup.com can then eliminate those with vastly different philosophies toward the activity. The result is a list of buddies doing your sport of choice that live near you and have an appropriate skill level.
Q: What does it cost?
A: A Basic Membership is free. The expectation is that the membership base will appeal to advertisers. So instead of charging you a search fee or a sign-up fee, the site is currently supported by advertising (and by the owners). Let us know if you would rather pay!
Q: How do I become an active member?
A: Go to the "sign up" page and provide the requested information. You will then become an active member. As long as you send an invitation for an activity once in every twelve month period and your email address remains active, you will remain an active member. Q: Is this a dating service?
A: No. This site is uniquely focused on sports and activities based on skill. There are plenty of dating services and personal advertising sites; buddyup.com is not designed to be one of them. However, if you end up enjoying an activity with a member and becoming involved in the future, that's great too! If you are interested in a dating service, try

Q: When are you going to offer more sports and activities?
A: Our members will use buddyup.com to find another individual with their interest in a specific activity. Our membership is just a fraction of the general population. As a result, activities that attract fewer participants among the general population are likely to have few, if any, members. We do not want to disappoint our members by not finding a buddy. We also need to focus our limited advertising dollars to attract a sustainable base of members for each activity. So, we are currently restricting the activities to those that are more popular in the communities we serve. As our membership grows, we plan on expanding the covered activities to include numerous other sports and recreational activities. If you have a suggestion on a sport or activity, please send us an email. The more suggestions we get for a particular sport or activity, the more inclined we will be to expand to include it.
Q: I want to use buddyup.com, but when will it be offered in my town?
A: Buddyup.com wants satisfied and active members. Thus, we have designed a national roll-out that begins in Chicago. Once buddyup.com obtains a sustainable base of members, it will expand to even more cities like New York and Boston. Additionally, buddyup.com will expand to towns or resort communities with favorable demographics like Aspen. Eventually, buddyup.com hopes to have members in every major community in the United States.
